Emperor’s Children Army Set: Champions of Slaanesh

The Emperor’s Children Army Set introduces 33 new miniatures, showcasing the legion’s distinctive aesthetic and themes of excess. The set includes a Lord Exultant, a central character with customizable options such as a phoenix power spear, rapture lash, and various power packs and head designs.

Accompanying the Lord Exultant are two units of six Noise Marines, each capable of including a Disharmonist. The Noise Marines feature a variety of heads, shoulders, and muzzles for their sonic blasters, allowing for extensive customization. Additionally, the set includes 20 Space Marines that can be built as either Tormentors (focused on ranged combat) or Infractors (specializing in close combat), with a selection of accessories to personalize each model.

The set also includes a 112-page Codex: Emperor’s Children, which provides lore, artwork, and rules for using the Emperor’s Children in tabletop gameplay. The Codex features a pink foil cover, gilded page edges, and a black ribbon bookmark. Completing the set are 22 datasheet cards for the units included in the Codex and a transfer sheet with 150 transfers for decorating miniatures. Combat Patrol: Aeldari

Lucius: The Faultless Blade – Special Edition Novel

Black Library is releasing a special edition of Lucius: The Faultless Blade, a novel by Ian St. Martin that explores the story of Lucius the Eternal, a champion of Fulgrim. The novel follows Lucius as he attempts to rebuild his forces amidst ongoing conflict. This special edition includes a signed copy by the author, a screen-printed cover, a silver ribbon bookmark, and the short story Lucius: Pride and Fall. Like the Emperor’s Children Army Set, this edition will be available while stocks last.

In Hardwar, players can take on various roles, such as leading a private security company, commanding corporate forces, organizing a revolutionary group, or protecting farmsteads as a marshal. The game offers a range of factions, with options to use pre-built units or create custom forces using a straightforward construction system. Gameplay combines elements of traditional armored warfare with futuristic additions like cybernetics, sentient combat swarms, and electronic countermeasures (ECM).

Originally developed by Strato Minis Studio in Poland, Hardwar was acquired by Modiphius Entertainment in June 2024. Since the acquisition, the game has been updated and redesigned for an international release. The new edition includes a fully revised hardcover rulebook in a digest-size format, incorporating previously PDF-exclusive content such as Extended Hardware and No Heroes. The starter sets have also been re-mastered for improved detail, with miniatures painted by Modiphius’ in-house team, Callum France and Rosie Williams.

The Kickstarter campaign will offer the core rulebook, the first two factions—the Syndicate Taskforce and Consortium Security Squadron—and additional expansions. A preview of the game will be available at AdeptiCon next month.

Gravediggers Command Starter: A 30-Point Cygnar Force

The highlight of this week’s update is the Cygnar Gravediggers Command Starter, which will be available for pre-order next week and is scheduled for release at AdeptiCon. This starter set provides a 30-point force, making it suitable for smaller-scale games or for players new to Warmachine.

The set features Captain Buck Hasker, a Trencher warcaster known for his stealth tactics and use of explosive traps. A new seasonal gameplay scenario, “Two Hearts That Beat as One,” has been introduced for Warmachine app subscribers. This scenario utilizes the Duos format, allowing players to build forces with two Leaders instead of one. While standard force-building rules apply, players must manage two Leaders during each turn, with each Leader only able to allocate focus or reave fury from their own Cohort models.

The Duos format is designed to offer a fresh gameplay experience and can also serve as an introductory tool for new players. By assigning a portion of the force to a novice, experienced players can help them learn the game in a collaborative setting.

Shadows & Scum Pre-Order Now Available

The Shadows & Scum two-player set, which was announced last Friday, is now open for pre-order. This set is tailored for Khymaera and Southern Kriels armies and is intended for two players, making it an option for those looking to split the set with a friend or build their own force ahead of its AdeptiCon release.

Lylyth, Raven Vengeance Releases Tomorrow

Lylyth, Raven Vengeance, a new warcaster for the Khymaera faction, is set to release tomorrow. Formerly associated with Everblight, Lylyth returns to lead Shadowflame Shard armies. Players are invited to share their painted Lylyth models in the community group and on Discord for a chance to be featured in Steamforged’s #paintmachine spotlights.

A new Beginner’s Guide video has been released to help players learn the game’s mechanics. Grave Trigger introduces innovative features like a dynamic movement system, diceless combat, and the ability to summon and animate living terrain. Weapons and armor also evolve during battle, adding strategic depth.

The set also includes the first release of the Codex: Astra Militarum, a 168-page book detailing background and rules for the Astra Militarum in Warhammer 40,000.
